Describe
Ustecki Kraj – gate to Bohemia
Ustecki Kraj is a tourist region in northwestern Bohemia with the capital in Usti nad Labem (administratively – Usteckie Voivodship). The priority of the region’s authorities is to create and maintain protected landscape areas, such as the České Švýcarsko National Park (Bohemian Switzerland), Middling Hills of Bohemia, and – Labskie Pískovce. The region’s richness of landscape consists of the unique terrain around the Labe River, but also of Ohrza. Monuments of sacred and secular architecture are in excellent condition, especially urban monument zones in Terezín, Litoměřice, Úštěk, Kadań and Žatec. Only Usti nad Labem and Most have suffered the most in the cultural landscape due to industrial and socrealist reconstruction. The most popular places among tourists are places with brewing, wine, culinary, spa or handicraft traditions (Litoměřice, Děčín, Osek, Česká Lípa, Malé Žernoseky, Chomutov, Varnsdorf, Třebivlice, Teplice etc.), or – skiing values (for example, Ski Center in Kliny).
