Jarosław is a town of unique historical and architectural values dating back to the 12th century. Being located by the navigable San River, where the Lower San Valley and Rzeszów Foothills meet, and at the intersection of the most important trade routes, for centuries Jarosław had favourable development conditions.
Thanks to numerous merchant laws and privileges, this positioned in 1375 town became in 16th and 17th centuries – due to its famous market fairs – one of the most affluent trade centres in Europe. Nowadays, Jarosław is one of the most interesting towns in south-east Poland and it owes it to nearly six hundred monuments and many attractions.
